Push & Pull: A Mother’s Day Performance

  • Barking Legs Theater 1307 Dodds Avenue Chattanooga, TN, 37404 United States (map)

A blue boy on a blue box reaches behind him, across from him a red woman (Mother) on a red box reaches back. In between them an outline of Bruce Kaplan plays guitar.

A multidisciplinary performance using dance, music, and spoken word in an exploration of the struggles of a parent and their adult child trying to get on the same page. Special guests will open the show with performances about parenting and childhood based on their own experiences. The evening will conclude with a performance featuring Ann Law and Lupin Kaplan on stage weaving movement and words in a collaborative/combative/compassionate "push and pull" dialogue. They will be accompanied by musicians Bruce Kaplan and Brady Sharp.

Starting at 6:00 PM, attendees will be treated to a preview tasting of Barking Legs Theater's small plates menu by in-house chef Amy Nelson (Final Girl Vegan Food Truck) that will be debuting this Summer. The menu will include Gluten Free/Allergen Friendly and Vegan options, but will have omnivorous selections as well.

The performance will begin at 6:45 PM
