THIS EVENT IS A PART OF BARKING LEGS THEATER’S 30TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!
From the moment we began planning our 30th Anniversary Celebration, the idea of reuniting guitarist David Grier and mandolinist Mike Compton became almost an obsession. We first began presenting music regularly in fall of 1997. George Bright and I formed Flying Fingers Productions, which took advantage of Fletcher Bright’s friendships (and playing relationships) with some of the finest musicians in Nashville and beyond. With this huge boost, our first season included David and Mike, each in stunning solo performance. The duo had released a CD together, Climbing the Walls, which was hailed in Bluegrass Unlimited as “one that can easily stand with the best-ever collections of instrumental bluegrass.”
To say that we are excited to bring David and Mike together to Barking Legs is a major understatement.
We dedicate this show to the memory of Fletcher Bright, a great fiddler and musician who had a huge, and enduring, impact on Chattanooga music.
