Cast Iron Storytelling Presents "Resilience": A Live, True Story Event Featuring United States Veterans & Active Service Members

We are honored to bring the voices of veterans to the stage to share true stories on the theme of resilience. Every storyteller for this live event will be a person who has served or is currently serving in active duty in the United States military.

Our night of resilience is a continuation of observing Veterans Day as a way to thank and connect with the veteran experience. Cast Iron Storytelling strives to amplify underrepresented voices and the human experience. Our veteran population is among those that often go unheard – and this evening will shed a light on not only their service to our country, but also their devotion to family and community.

Among our storytellers for “Resilience” are:

William David Pettis, Jr. Retired SSG, United States Army. William gave 27 years of service.

Ámari Jiménez, Sergeant, United States Marine Corps. Ámari served four years and played flute and piccolo in the Marine Corps Band.

Kittrell Rushing, United States Navy Radioman 2nd Class. Served on the USS Papago during the Six-Day War in 1967.

Arthur C. Grisham, Jr. Retired Captain, United States Army. Arthur served four years on Active Duty and two years in the Inactive Reserves.

Eric W. Jones II. 2nd Lieutenant, United States Army. Currently on Active Duty.

Michael Ake. 2nd Lieutenant, Tennessee State Guard. Currently on Active Duty.

Your host for the evening is Next Exit Production’s Executive Producer, Holly Morse-Ellington. Holly served as a Lieutenant JG in the United States Navy JAG Corps.

We're thankful to the generous support from the Arts Build Access & Opportunity Grant to make this special evening possible.
