Ben Friberg returns to the Barking Legs Lobby for an intimate evening exploring modern jazz, groove, and sonic storytelling. The program will blend emotionally charged and cutting-edge compositions from contemporary voices like Kurt Rosenwinkel, Geneviève Artadi, Nate Smith, Frederico Heliodoro, KNOWER, and Domi & JD Beck, alongside reinterpretations of works by Jacob Collier, Gretchen Parlato, Elliott Smith, and The Beatles.

The eve will travel a broad emotional spectrum — from tenderness and introspection to rhythmic fire and playful experimentation. Songs like Time to Rest Your Weary Head and Between the Bars invite quiet reflection, while pieces such as Take a Chance and Do Hot Girls Like Chords burst with humor and kinetic energy. The trio also dives deep into the harmonic universes of Rosenwinkel’s Blue Line, Heavenly Bodies, and Summer Song — lush compositions where lyricism meets improvisational daring.
