

Getting started with Pilates is easy! Barking Legs offers both private
sessions and group mat classes to suit personal fitness goals and
individual preferences.
New to Pilates? We require that all students who are new to Pilates (even if you have done it with a DVD at home!) to take our 4-class Intro Session. This offers a solid "starting-base" of Pilates principles. It also allows you to try it out and see just how different and unique Pilates can be from other exercise methods. Private sessions offer one-on-one instruction
by a certified Pilates instructor. Instructors customize individual
programs through careful
assessment of student form, fitness goals and special needs. All
private sessions are fifty minutes long and include both apparatus
instruction and mat work.
Mat classes focus on strengthening the
abdomen, back and buttocks. These classes are instructed in small
groups of no more then 6, and performed on the
mat. Because no special equipment is necessary, students who
have an understanding of Pilates mat can easily practice the exercises
outside of the studio.
